*HALLOWEEN 2009*

Since Halloween was on a Saturday, the girls pretty much had their costumes on all day long. We started off going to Grandma Marilyn's house where Grandma Marilyn, Aunt Rachel, and Grandpa and Grandma Burhans were. We ate pizza and the girls got a ton of neat Halloween treats from everyone.
Then we went to the Village and trick-or-treated the shops. Aunt Angie, Aunt Erin and all the cousins walked with us there. Afterwards, we walked back home and started carving our pumpkin.
Halfway into the pumpkin we all had to stop to take the yearly neighborhood picture of all the kids in the neighborhood. Then we went back home to finish the pumpkin.
Afterwards we headed out to go trick-or-treating. After a couple of houses, the girls said they were done and wanted to head home. We ended up going to our neighbor Joe's to his party. The girls played with all the kids in the neighborhood until pretty late.
With all the fun activities, the girls were ready to go to sleep.

*TRUNK OR TREAT AT PRAIRIE ELEMENTARY*

After the party the girls went home and got ready for the trunk-or-treat their school has every year. It was unique this year, because Halloween landed on a Saturday, so it seemed like everything landed for the school on the same day as well.
When we got there the girls started to trunk-or-treat, but then ran into her friends, Isabell and Ellie and decided to do a scavenger hunt instead. Maren and I walked around for a little while, but she got bored after awhile. We ended up sitting on the curb and eating some popcorn, so Alexa could finish the scavenger hunt. Afterwards, we went to the playground and played until it was time to go home.

*ALEXA'S HALLOWEEN PARTY AT SCHOOL*

Alexa had her Halloween party at school today. They all march through the gym, class-by-class, in their Halloween costumes. It's neat to see what the different costumes are. Then afterwards they all return to their classrooms to have a Halloween party together. This year they had a ton of great treats and they did a bunch of fun crafts. They also got to wrap each other in toilet paper like a mummy. After the timer goes off the one with the most paper on them wins. Alexa wrapper one of her friends and then she wrapped her sister.

*SWEENY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY*

Every year Angie and her family have a neighborhood Halloween party the Saturday before Halloween. This year I was out of town, but Jay took the girls. Greg has a tractor with hay on it to take the kids trick-or-treating on throughout the neighborhood.

*THE GIRLS AT THE PUMPKIN PATCH*

The girls went with their dad to the pumpkin patch today and found the biggest pumpkin ever. Jay said that everyone kept commenting how big it was when they brought it back from the patch. They also took turns riding a pony.

*KEVIN AND CRYSTAL PETTIT'S WEDDING*

We all went to a wedding for Jay's cousin Kevin. It was at Unity Village in Lee's Summit. The girls danced all night long. You couldn't drag Alexa off of the dance floor. Maren fell asleep a little before we left though.

Alexa went up to catch the flower bouguet and caught it! However, a group of crazy older girls grabbed it from her hand. I tried to explain to her that you never get in the way of older girls catching a bouquet, b/c they can be insane. However, she was still upset. Jay's cousin Steven tried to cheer her up by giving his boutonniere to her. After awhile she got over it and started dancing again. She even met a friend and danced with her all night. Trey got the little girls digits too.

*ALEXA'S LAST SOCCER GAME FOR THE SEASON*

This was Alexa's last soccer game this season. You can tell it's starting to get a little cold to play.

I walked in and saw the girls watching TV like this. It was so super cute. A perfect picture moment.

*SHAWNEE DAYS*

Erin lives right across from a park in Fairway, KS. Every year they throw a small event. This year the Smykay's where out of town, but we still went out. It was the coldest one we've been too, but it was fun. They didn't have as many things this year - like the petting zoo. They still had horse rides and some fun games for the girls. Plus they had food too!
Alexa did the rope walk and Maren played carnival games. Maren at first didn't want to ride on the horse, but we eventually talked her into it and she looked like she had a blast. When they were done he asked if she wanted to do it one more time and she said no and wanted off. Alexa loved it and would have stayed on the horse all day long.
