*GIRLS' NEW DO'S*
The girls both got new haircuts. It was Maren's first time ever to get her hair cut (well other then the one I attempted to do when she was younger.) Alexa always sits great and loves to chit chat with the lady cutting her hair. Maren of course was great at climbing up and sitting really still. However, when the lady would ask her questions, she just sat there. I think both of their hair turned out great! Alexa's did such a great job, I am going to request her each time.
*ALEXA'S FIRST SOCCER GAME OF THE SEASON*
Alexa's first game of the year and they won! They didn't get a chance to practice yet, because it their practice was rained out. She was goalie at the second half. Only one got by her, but she did an amazing job at stopping two of them that were really close. She is really good at knowing where to be at when she is goalie.

*FUN DAY AT THE ART MUESEUM AND DIARY OF A WIMPY KID*
I read online about how Kemper Art Museum had a kids scavenger hunt. I thought it would be fun to try it out. We first started off at the Nelson Art Gallery. Maren had fun finding all the naked booty's from all of the statues and laughing about that then looking at the actual pictures. But whatever keeps her entertained works for us. We also got a cute shot of them in front of the Water Lilies by Claude Monet.
After that we went to Kemper Art Museum where the scavenger hunt was. It was neat, because it had us find different pictures and had a discuss what the picture meant to us. The main lesson that it taught was how artists take items from their lives and reuse it in their pictures. At the end after we completed the scavenger hunt we got a kit to take home and make our own collage. I thought it was super cute to see Jay and Maren sitting in front of this pastry picture talking.
Then at the end of the day we went to see Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Alexa has read all of the books, so it was a special treat for her to see the movie. Maren liked it too just because of the silliness.

*ALEXA'S GIRL SCOUT ICE SKATING RINK*
Alexa had a girl scout skating party on my birthday. We ended up taking her friend, Ashley, with us too. Alexa and Ashley did great at skating on their own. Maren started off by hanging on to my hand, but by the end of the night she was pretty independent. Unfortunately, she ended up getting pretty confident right when it was time to go home. The girls all had a great time though seeing all of their friends.
