*MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND*
We went down to the lake house on Saturday morning. Everyone was already there. Trey and Michael came earlier that week, so they left that day and Tyler and Cade stayed the rest of the weekend. The kids all got along pretty well.
During Saturday the kids ran back and forth from the dock to the ramp. The rule was that they had to have thier life jacket on near the water. Luckily they did, because Micheal was walking on the bridge to get off the dock and fell in. He was panicking, but did a great job at swimming to Angie and I to pull him out.
We had a full day of jet skiing on Sunday. Each kid would take a turn. Both girls loved it, but Alexa was cautious and had rules when she rode it. She wouldn't let me hit big waves or take it up over 6 RPMs. She also liked riding in front. Tyler hopped on for the ride when I took either of the girls out, b/c he could ride in the back the whole time. He was pretty tough and held on some pretty huge waves. Jay and I took it out once and went airborne together. Jay and I went home Sunday night, because I had a 5 mile race the next morning, but the girls stayed down with their Grandma.

*FIRST WEEKEND AT THE LAKEHOUSE*
We got to go to the lake house this weekend for the first time this year. The girls were so excited to finally go. Maren talks about the lake house all the time. She says she's going to live in it one day.
We got in pretty late at night so we unpacked and went to bed. The next day the girls woke up begging to go swimming, so we ate breakfast and ran to the boat ramp to play in the water. They played all day swimming, so once they were worn out we got ready and went to dinner, bumper cars and a movie, Shrek 4.
Once we got back, we saw a scorpion on the floor and decided to pack it up that night and head home!

*TREY'S GRADUATION*

*ALEXA'S HAT PARADE*
Every year the second grade puts on a hat parade. Each child is assigned a country and is asked to make a hat representing the country. Alexa got Finland. At first it seemed like it would be hard to come up with something, but after a little research Alexa found out some interesting facts: Finland has over 187,000 lakes. It has over 75% forrest. To say hello in Finnish is "Moi." The country mainly speaks Finnish and Swedish. There were other facts to choose from, but they could only say 3 during their speech. During the hat parade, all the students sit go in front of a microphone and say their speech. Then in between each class they sing songs from all different countries. At the very end they all formed a circle throughout the audience and sang "It's a Small World."

*DAY AT THE FAIR*
Mission had a fair, so we decided to spend an afternoon riding the rides. Maren wanted to go on all the big girl rides, but wasn't quite tall enough (thank goodness!), so we tried to find all the exciting ones that she would have a blast on and that I wouldn't have a panic attack while she rode it. Alexa was a good sister and rode on some of the baby rides with Maren and then together they rode some of the older kid rides. Their favorite was a flying rug that they went around in circles on. I got to go on the slide with Maren, which the 3 of us loved.

*GRANDMA HAUK'S VISIT*
Grandma Hauk has been planning a visit for awhile and finally got to come. She stayed for a week, so Maren got to stay home with her everyday. Grandpa Hauk came to drop her off and pick her up. The first weekend we had the McCale family over for a get together since Grandpa Hauk didn't leave until the next morning. The last weekend he came back into town and all of the immediate family went to dinner at Jose Pepper's down the street. The girls had a blast to be able to spend that much time with their grandparents.
The night the picture was taken the girls were at a school carnival (note Maren's orange hair.)

*ALEXA'S OPEN HOUSE*
Alexa's open house was today. We got to go around and look at all the things she has done during the year. She took us through the halls to see her artwork, showed me her desk with all of her work, and took me to each room. At the end we went to a book fair where Alexa and Maren both got to choose a book to buy.
