*GIRLS AT THE ZOO*

The zoo had a members only late night, so we decided to go. It was nice because everything was free, so we were able to take the tram and train everywhere. It was pretty warm, but the girls seemed to have a lot of fun.

*WYNN TWINS 2010*

This was Maren's first dance recital and her last one (Alexa's last too.) They both decided to move on and do new excited things. This is bittersweet for me since I will have my Monday nights back, but I will for sure miss them doing their dance thing. I loved watching Alexa for the past five years (and Maren this year) getting dolled up in their little dresses and making their shoe bows.
However, they did do great this year. Alexa went from being in her big poofy dresses (like Maren's) to big girl outfits. It was the first year she didn't dance in a straight line, but moved around the stage. I was very excited we moved on from that. She did great in both numbers, but I really enjoyed her "We Will Rock You" tap number. I thought that was her best performance out of the two.
Maren did "Beautiful Doll." Super adorable and she went out on stage like she had done many times before. I was surprised since she seems to be my more shy one out of the two.
Both nights went really well and many people came out to watch the girls dance their hearts out at the Music Hall.

*LAST DANCE CLASS*

This was the girls last dance class. it's very sad to have it come to an end after five years! However, the girls are excited to move on to new things.

*WEEKEND AT THE LAKE OF THE OZARKS*

We had a blast at the lake house this weekend. We came down on Friday night and met up with the Sweenys. After we all ate dinner, we headed out to go go-cart racing. Then we headed to the batting cages and ski ball. Trey was feeling pretty bad, but he seemed to hang in there for most of it.
Saturday we spent the entire day playing on the water. I took all the kids out on the jet ski except for Alexa. She didn't care to go this weekend. Jay must have scared her the last time he took her out. She has always been a very cautious person of course you can't go fast enough with Maren. One of the times that I took Michael out, we got hit with a huge wave. He didn't seem phased by it at all, but it was so large it knocked off his visor. I had to go back and look for it in the water. I was certain he wouldn't come back out on the jet ski, but he didn't seem to mind.
The next day we were getting everything ready to put up from the dock and Maren fell into the water while she was trying to fill her water gun up. It must have scared her pretty bad, because she was ready to get off the dock entirely. Luckily she was wearing her life jacket, because we had no clue she had fallen in. She was soaked to the bone, so I know she must have fallen in over her head.
Overall, it was a pretty great, tiring weekend.

*MAREN'S FIRST GYMNASTICS*

Or as she says "benasticks." She was confused at first, but jumped right into tumbling with the other girls.

*ALEXA'S BOOK CLUB*

Another mom came up and asked me if I would like for Alexa to join a book club she was putting together with other girls in her class. I knew Alexa would love it since she enjoys reading so much. I was also excited to have her read books that she wouldn't normally pick out. This book club also encourages the parents to read the book with the child as well, so at night Maren, Alexa and I climb into bed and read a little. It gives us time to unwind and enjoy reading new books.

*ALEXA'S 1ST SOFTBALL GAME*

This was Alexa's first softball game for the season. She's played one other time with a coed team a year ago.
At first she was really excited. After she was done playing she said how she didn't enjoy it that much, because they didn't count outs or hits. We tried to explain that this is the season that she needed to learn the basics and then next year her team would play for real. She said she understood, but thought it was silly not to play for real this year. At least she has her friends to hang out with!

*BUILD-A-BEAR AT THE ROYALS*

We went to the Royals game and surprised the girls. They were giving all children their very own Polar Bear from Build-A-Bear. They were pretty excited. Alexa named hers Snow White (but I think she may have changed it to something else.) Maren ended up naming hers Tiana after the Princes and the Frog. We also met Erin, Trevor, Fletcher and Audry there. It was so sunny, so we decided to leave at the bottom of the 6th inning. The Royals did win!

*MOM'S FIRST HALF MARATHON*

I ran my first half marathon today (13.1) at the Hospital Hill by Crown Center. I wanted to be done in 2:30 and actually got done in 2:19, so I was pretty satisfied. It was a hot day, but I felt good running. No ailments or pains that got in the way. I ran the Amy Thompson 10K run on Memorial Day and didn't feel like I ran well, so this was a great boost. Trevor also ran and did great coming in at 2:10, which is pretty great for his first half as well. Jay and the girls came out to cheer us on and Erin and the kids came out too. It was nice to see a familiar face after a race!
