*NINE WEEKS*

Nine Week Recap
  1. Coen's 1st Christmas was this week.  He had a blast going to all of his families houses.
  2. Coen can hold his head up really well now.  Especially when he is laying on our chest, he will raise up and look around for a long time.
  3. He can now mimic "Oh" when we ask him to.
  4. He will babble with us when he is in a good mood.
  5. Coen is sleeping for longer periods of time now.  This is giving us our much needed rest.

*CHRISTMAS AT THE ADAMS*

As usual, the girls woke up super early.  I stayed up cleaning the night before and Coen woke up in the middle of the night, so I was exhausted.  We convinced them to stay in Maren's room for a little while longer, so we could sleep in a little.  Finally it was time to go downstairs, but Coen was still fast asleep.  I felt bad waking him up, but the girls couldn't take waiting any longer.

Once we woke him up, we had the girls sit in the stairwell, while we made sure that Santa came.  We always make them sit there, so it give Jay and I time to setup the camera and take pictures of all the presents Santa brought.

The girls always start off opening their stockings, but this year there was a special surprise.  Santa left a note that said that there was a hidden surprise.  We waited until after we opened our presents until we figured out the surprise Santa left.

Alexa really wanted a Sorcerer's Book from Disney World that she saw and Maren really wanted a Journey Girl Doll.  Both girls got what they wanted and they were super happy!  Once they were done opening their gifts they had to help their baby brother open his.  He didn't need much this year, so he got a high chair and a couple small gifts.

If you look closely to the picture above, you can see one of three hidden boxes in the tree that Santa hid.  In them were letters that the girls had to unscramble to figure out their gift.

They figured out that they got to go on a daddy / daughter ski trip.  Coen and I are just going to stay home and relax while they ski.  Disney and a ski trip this year!  Santa was very generous.

*COEN'S 1ST CHRISTMAS*

*TWO MONTHS*

Coen turned two months today and it happens to be Christmas!  We had a great morning opening presents and he was patient watching the girls.  He had an exciting, busy month.  We went to Disney, he had his first haircut and Christmas.  Plus he met and saw so many family members over the holiday.  We feel so lucky to have him here to share the holidays with us.  Last Christmas, we had no clue that we would have a new member of the family to share this year's Christmas with us!

*THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS...*

...and Coen was sleeping, so the girls put out the cookies without him.  Christmas Eve was a busy day for us.  Jay had to work, but the kids and I went to Grandma Shartzer's and Grandparent Hauks' houses.  We all then went to church at Calvary Lutheran this year instead of Church of the Resurrection.  I was tired and didn't want to fight the crowds, so Jay came up with the idea of going to Calvary this year.  Afterwards, we went home and straightened the house for Santa.  The girls have a tradition of setting out the cookies and milk and sleeping in Maren's room.  One day Coen will get to join them in their slumber party.

*COEN'S DOUBLE ORNAMENT*

While we were in Disney, we got Coen a first year baby ornament.  Of course we did it at the beginning of the day, so by the end of the day I forgot to pick it up.  I stayed in Orlando for a conference and I met a nice couple that lived locally and had year passes to Disney.  They offered to pick up the ornament for me while I waited in the car.  They couldn't find the ornament when she went to the shop I bought it from, so they offered to make us another one.  Once I came home, we had a box on the doorstep.  To our surprise, Disney had shipped our ornament to our house.  We ended up having two ornaments.  Now we have one to put up to save for when he is older and one that we can have on our tree forever.

*LAST NIGHT IN ORLANDO, FL*

We had to go to the hotel where my conference was being held for our last night together in Florida.  Everyone headed home on Saturday and I followed on Sunday.  The nice part of this hotel is that there was this great Italian restaurant called Maggianos that we got to all eat at for our last night together on vacation right after the girls finished swimming all day at the pool.

*EIGHT WEEKS*

Eight Week Recap
  1. Coen went to Disney!  Santa brought an early gift and surprised us with a trip.  He did great on the plane ride and hanging out with us all day in the parks.
  2. He got his first kiss from a girl.  Cinderella planted one right on his forehead, which he wore all day long.
  3. Coen got his first haircut.  Disney did a great job at making it a big deal.  They gave us a lock of his hair, a first haircut certificate and ears that said "First Haircut".

*COEN'S FIRST HAIRCUT*

We noticed a cute little barber shop at Magic Kingdom tucked away on Main Street.  We figured it would be a very special memory to have Coen's hair trimmed while we were there.  Lucky for us, we found them right before they closed and they fit us in as their last cut for the day.  How could they turn away one of the cutest little guys ever!

He sat still for it all and didn't seem to fear anything happening to him.  Plus at the end, they gave us a certificate and a clip of his hair wrapped up for us to save.

*DISNEY DAY 4 - MAGIC KINGDOM*

We went to Magic Kingdom again.  Alexa discovered this fun game similar to the one at Great Wolf Lodge where you run around and conquer portals with magic cards.  Everyone gets 5 magic cards and you can buy additional ones.  Maren really didn't care about it at all so she and Daddy went on all the rides while Alexa, Coen and I conquered magic portals throughout the park.  Coen was able to meet some princesses while Alexa was playing.  He got a very special kiss from Cinderella on his forehead.  Coen had another very special moment today as well.  We ended up getting his first ever haircut.
