*FIVE WEEKS*

Five Week Recap

  1. Coen is considered one month now!
  2. He met several new family members this week over Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving weekend.
  3. Coen had his 1 month doctor appointment and he gaining his weight back really well.
  4. He is fighting a small cold this week, but it doesn't seem to be upsetting him much.  You can just hear it when he is breathing.  We have to suction his nose at night to prevent it from waking him up.

*THANKSGIVING*

We ended up having three Thanksgivings this year.  The first one was at the Adams's on Thanksgiving, then the Burhans's was on the Saturday after and finally we had the Hauk's on the following Tuesday.  Coen had fun seeing and meeting some of his relatives for the first time.

*COEN'S ONE MONTH*

Coen's One Month

We now have had Coen for one month, but he feels like he has been a part of our family forever.  We love him to death and we are so glad he is here.  His sisters have a blast feeding him and holding him and we all fight in the evenings on who gets to cuddle him while we watch our shows together.  We love out little Coconut!

*THREE WEEKS*

Three Week Recap
  1. Coen lost his umbilical cord this week.  We saw it hanging on and then it was gone!  I have yet to find the umbilical cords of one of our children.
  2. His weight did go up though since we are supplementing.  That makes me feel better, because we were really worried about his weight lost.

*COEN'S BOTTLE*

Coen wasn't gaining enough weight, so the doctor told us that we had to supplement nursing with formula.  Maren doesn't mind because she gets to feed him his bottle.  He sure does love it!

*COEN'S FIRST DOCTOR APPOINTMENT*

We had Coen's first doctor appointment.  We found out that he was losing weight, so the doctor suggested that we supplement his feedings with formula.  I hated hearing that, because I worked so hard at being able to feed him, but I have to do what's best for him.

*COEN'S FIRST BATH*

Coen has his first bath today and he did a good job for most of the time, but he started screaming to get out.  He also had a minor accident that is helping us learn the main difference between boys and girls!  We choose to bathe him in the kitchen sink while he was tiny.  Daddy held him and did most of the work as I took pictures and video of him.  He even got his first fingernail clipping.

*COEN'S 1ST BATH AT HOME*

Coen has his first bath today.  He wasn't so excited when we put him in, so we quickly bathed him and wrapped him in a towel.

He also got his nails cut for the first time.  I usually just bite them off, but they grew out pretty long where I could cut them with the clippers.
