*KANSAS CITY ZOO*
Grandma Hauk had been wanting to go to the zoo since she moved back into town, so we decided to go on Memorial Day. It was the first time that I got to see the new polar bear exhibit.
We had such a busy Memorial Day weekend and hit two zoos in one weekend.

*WEEKEND IN OMAHA - WICKED*
After the zoo we went back to our room, relaxed a bit and then got ready to go to Wicked!
We all got dressed up and went to dinner prior to the show at 801 Chop House. The girls were so excited to see the play again.
We listen to the cds in our car all the time, so both girls know the songs by heart. They know them so well that one time during "Defying Gravity," they were singing and took a dramatic pause, Maren must have been singing along in her head and accidentally sang the word "Right" loudly during the pause. It was so funny that she did that only because she is more shy and wouldn't normally sing in front of anyone.
Alexa never took her eyes off of the play. Maren didn't either until the very end when she fell asleep. Jay had to carry her out of the theatre to the souvenir stand. She sorta woke up to pick out her tshirt and Alexa picked one out too.
As we walked back to the car, Jay noticed some of the actors from the play coming out of the back entrance. He kept walking to the car with Maren asleep on his shoulder, but Alexa and I stopped and spoke with the actor. We met Fierro, Alfabub's Mom and some of the chorus.
*WEEKEND IN OMAHA - OMAHA ZOO*
Over the Memorial Day weekend we decided to head to Omaha. Alexa had play rehearsal until 9:00, so we couldn't leave until then. We ended up getting to the Air Force base around 12:00, but it was nice since the girls could sleep in the car. The next morning we ran by the BX to grab Alexa a pair of tennis shoes and then spent the day at the Omaha Zoo. The girls know the zoo pretty well now, but we still love how nice it is. There are certain areas we have to hit everytime we are there. Alexa loves the swamp where the white crocodile lives and Maren and I love the butterfly house.

*ALEXA'S LAST DAY OF SCHOOL*

*MAREN'S GYMNASTIC PERFORMANCE*
Maren's put on a gymnsatic show on her last day of gym class before the summer. They showcased all of the areas they learned in class. Family got to sit on the bleachers and watch, usually we have to sit in the other room and we aren't allowed in the gym.
Maren did a great job and she was told she can move on to the next level. She also made it a point to tell Ms. Joann to not help her when she was doing the vault. I had a feeling she was ready to go in with some of the older kids. She would get frustrated with the younger kids that weren't following directions.

*ALEXA'S SOCCER SEASON*
Alexa had a great soccer season this year. The whole team is getting better with each passing season.
The girls played in a tournament after the regular season. Alexa was able to score on the third and final game at the tournament. They didn't end up getting first, but they played really well together. They won two of the three games.
*ALEXA'S GIRL SCOUT OVERNIGHT*
Alexa went to Girl Scout Overnight Camp this weekend. It was the first time she did an overnight trip without me. Unfortunately, I had my military weekend and a Wine Party for Alexa's school that night, so I wasn't able to go. However, she had a blast and came home showing me what she learned and did.
She said she stayed in individual cabins, so their group was broken up into three groups. Before bed they sat around the campfire and ate dinner and sang songs. The next day they woke up and learned how to finger weave. She came home and made us all bracelets and scarves. Overall it looked like she had a great time.

*MAREN'S LAST DAY OF PRE-SCHOOL*
Today is the last day for Maren at St. Anne's. She is sad, because all of her friends in class will be going to St. Anne's for kindergarten. The one thing she is excited about is that her best friend, Adrienne will be going to Prairie with her. We haven't decided on whether or not she will be going to full day or half day, but they may be in the same class. She loved the year and her teacher said so many nice things about her. I know she is going to miss it.
