*MAREN'S 1ST SOFTBALL PRACTICE*
Maren had her first softball practice today. Jay got her ready for me, so when I came home she was ready to go. I could tell she was excited b/c she had her water bottle and glove and was waiting by the door. (Later that night, Jay mentioned she said she was excited that she finally got her own water bottle.)
Once there, she waited patiently for instructions and was excited to get out and throw the ball around with the other little girls.
The cutest part of the day was when they were playing a game of softball. Maren was so concentrated on grabbing the ball when it was hit. It didn't matter where she was standing, she was going to go after the ball and was willing to fight anyone for it.
Later in the practice game, Jay pulled Maren to the side to explain the rules of softball. I never thought to explain things to her prior to playing. However, one of the cutest moments was when she was on a third base ready to run home after hitting. All of a sudden we saw her dart back to second base. We thought maybe she got confused and was heading in the wrong direction. It turned out that she was going to go and get the ball. Of course she is super fast and aggressive, so she got it. The coaches were really nice and explained to her to go back to third base and wait until the next hit and run to home.
